In the Press: Spiezia Organics

"Hand-made in harmony with the lunar cycle on a farm in Cornwall, the organic skincare range by Spiezia Organics was the first to be accredited 100% organic by the Soil Association. Locally grown herbs and flowers are macerated in glass jars filled with olive oil to form the components of many of their balms, oils and ointments. The results are good enough to eat. So they should be, says co-owner Amanda Barlow. ‘The skin is our biggest organ and can absorb up to 2kg of chemicals a year from skincare products.’ With their ‘made for life’ philosophy, the company strives for purity, right down to their packaging, which is made from 100% recycled glass on site at the farm. Hero Product: Facial Cleanser (£21.55 50ml). A heady blend of organic essential oils, including Eucalyptus and Clary Sage, which decongests pores and regulates sebum production."

Why Natural Hand Made Soaps?

Trevarno Skincare regard the use of natural and organic handmade, detergent free, soaps as the basis of good skin care. Many substances that come into contact with the skin can pass into the bloodstream in a similar way that a nicotine patch releases its chemicals into the body and it is now thought that a number of common skin complaints such
as eczema and psoriasis can be aggravated by the synthetic chemicals found in modern soaps and shampoos.

All of Trevarno's natural and organic soaps use the very best plant extracts available, in their own recipes, which have been refined and optimised for their skin care qualities. To ensure that their soaps are the purest and most natural available, they do not use preservatives, stabilisers,
artificial colouring or other E numbers. The only ingredients added to the natural soap are ground herbs, pure vegetable oils such as extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil and jojoba oil and essential oils of the finest quality. Each soap is designed to leave a moisturising layer on your skin without stripping away your body’s own natural oils as you wash and cleanse.

Check out the range online here at The Natural Beauty Shop. We adore Trevarno's Organic Rose & Jojoba Soap made with organic rose petals infused into organic jojoba. This soap has anti-inflammatory & soothing properties and smells divine!

"We are very proud of our certified range of organic soaps, these also compliment many of our organic ointments ensuring a pure cleansing and moisturising experience, The ingredients contained in Trevarno natural and organic soaps are all food grade so are good enough to eat!" Trevarno Skincare

The Basics Of Trevarno's Soaps:

The ingredients used to make the base of Trevarno's soaps are Extra Virgin Olive oil, Palm oil, Coconut oil and Cocoa Butter. These oils are combined and included in each soap because of their excellent skin care qualities and the deep cleansing properties they offer. This combination also produces a long lasting creamy lather bar which can be used down to the very last sliver.Extra virgin olive oil was chosen as it provides an excellent base for infused herbal oils. It is also rich in vitamins, minerals and proteins and has superb emollient qualities.

Coconut oil is one of the most important ingredients for
soapmakers as it produces natural creamy bubbles. It is obtained from the pressing of coconuts, the fruit of the palm tree and is an excellent emollient. Cocoa Butter (also found in chocolate!) is extracted from the cacao bean and contributes to the hardness of the soap. Cocoa Butter is well known as one of the finest moisturisers, coating the skin with a fine film, hence diminishing water loss and softening and protecting skin.

Palm oil is used to its best advantage in combination with Coconut or Olive oil and produces a hard, long lasting bar of soap. We know there has been a lot of press regarding Palm oil production recently and wanted to clarify that Trevarno Skincare do not buy their Palm from an unethical source; they feel very strongly about this subject and are committed to using ethical sources from Malaysia who are dedicated not to devastate areas but use sustainable development plantations.

The moisturising layer or ‘superfat’ in Trevarno's soaps
includes herbs such as Lavender, Cinnamon, Rosehip, Camomile, Calendula and essential oils such as Bergamot, Patchouli and Sweet Orange which are mixed with vegetable oils such as Jojoba, Sunflower, Avocado, Coconut, Olive and Cocoa Butter. Each soap contains its own individual blend which is targeted towards various skin types and conditions. You can purchase Trevarno's soaps online Here
