Badger SPF 30 Rated 2nd best out of 832 products in Safety Summary :)

Whilst we are enjoying the last glimpse of the glorious (unpredictable!) english sunshine before autumn begins we thought we would highlight Skin Deep’s recent Safety Investigation on sunscreens.

Skin Deep is a safety guide to nearly 25,000 cosmetics and personal care products brought to you by researchers at the Environmental Working Group in the US.

Skin Deep lets consumers learn what chemicals are in their soap, shampoo, toothpaste and other products and provides product rankings of known and probable health hazards associated with ingredients in each of the products assessed because the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) doesn't require companies to test their own products for safety.

In a new investigation including well known brand names such as Loreal, The Body Shop, Dermalogica, Olay and Avon, Badger SPF 30 was rated second most Safe & effective out of 832 brand-name sunscreens. Followed by Lavera Neutral SPF 40 rated 3rd.

Skin Deep’s comprehensive scientific review indicates that 84% of 832 sunscreen products offer inadequate protection from the sun, or contain ingredients with significant safety concerns. Only 16% of the products on the market are both safe and effective, blocking both UVA and UVB radiation, remaining stable in sunlight, and containing few if any ingredients with significant known or suspected health hazards.

You can buy Badger SPF 30 suitable & safe for all ages including babies & children (£11.99 for 2.9oz) & Lavera Neutral Spf 40 (£5.95 for 50ml) developed with no scent especially for people suffering from allergies & extremely sensitive skin from The Natural Beauty Shop and read Skin Deep's sunscreen safety summary here.
