BRAND SPOTLIGHT: Burt's Bees Are Setting The Natural Standard

Starting out in 1964 tending hives and selling honey at a North Maine roadside, Burt Shavitz founded skincare company Burt's Bees with fellow bee-keeper Roxanne Quimby. Today Burt's Bees is the leading manufacturer of Earth-friendly natural personal care products.

With the potential for skincare ingredients to reach the bloodstream through skin absorption, Burt's Bees safely provides 'food for the skin' - using ingredients that are the best nature has to offer: beeswax, botanical and essential oils, herbs, flowers and minerals. There are ingredients that you will never find in any Burt's Bees product. Things like petroleum, which is not a renewable resource and can be toxic. Sodium lauryl sulfate, which is a harsh, aggressive ingredient used in most cleansing products like shampoo. And when was the last time you saw a farmer growing propylene glycol? Rather than loading their products up with harsh chemicals or unnecessary fillers, they only offer you the good stuff. They never use any ingredient that isn't proven safe and effective or any ingredient that has any potential suspected human health risks. Their safe, effective ingredients have withstood the test of time.

In addition, Burt'€™s Bees don't want to create any additional garbage on the planet, and work hard to reduce, reuse and recycle.
They have even been given an Eco Hero award to commend their recycling program. They are committed to the highest levels of environmental sensitivity in the choice of their packaging, using materials that are recycled and recyclable. They have also recently started using biodegradable labels with some of their new products. Zero waste is part of their 2020 goals and they continue to increase the amount of recycled content in our tubes and bottles. And of course, Burt'€™s Bees would never conduct product or ingredient tests of any kind on animals.

Burt's Bees are currently setting natural standards and believe natural products should be 100% natural. Burt's Bees also believes companies should be transparent so that consumers can make the most informed decisions about the products they use. At Burt's Bees they label every product they make with what they call a "natural bar." This bar discloses exactly how natural that specific product is by percentage. Their products average 99% natural, with half being 100% natural and they are continuing to strive for 100% natural on all of their products, investigating all ingredients and the latest technologies to create the best products for your greatest well-being.

Their range includes irresistible smelling Milk & Honey Lotion, award winning orange cleanser, and arguably the world's best lip balm and celebrity fans of the brand include

This is an old post, but I just saw it. I do love Burt's Bees, but I think it's also worth pointing out that they're now owned by Clorox so consumers should look for changes and also be aware that they're supporting the Clorox corporation when they buy Burt's Bees.
